America First: Donald Trump defends Saudi Arabia and the crown prince

The United State of America will not take any strong action towards Saudi Arabia and the crown prince Mohammed bin Salman for the death of Washington post journalist Jamal Khashoggi despite the pressure from the Congress and the Senate. This is according to United States president Donald Trump. In a press statement provided to the media subtitled “America First”, Donald Trump says he will stand behind Saudi Arabia no matter the outcome of the security agencies.

In his statement, Donald Trump says the crown prince may or may have not had the knowledge of the death of the Washington post journalist Jamal Khashoggi and therefore we may not know what really transpired to the death of the journalist. Trump says that he was not willing to destroy his relationship with Saudi Arabia because of the journalist.

According to the security agencies, it is very clear that the prince was behind the death of Jamal Khashoggi. After his death, the Saudi Arabia government denied its involvement but later they said it was a group of rogue operators who were responsible for his death. The five suspects who are being accused of being involved in the death of journalist are all security team for the prince. Jamal Khashoggi was a frequent critique of the Saudi Arabia government.

Donald Trump is expected to face harsh criticism from both the Senate and the congressmen on the statement he released. Many leaders expected him to take strong actions towards Saudi Arabia and the crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.
